Yes, I was one of the 11.something million people watching the dwindling hopefuls vie for fame and fortune on Saturday night’s X Factor (no mention of the £1m contract this year I notice!). Surprisingly, more of the entertainment was centred on the illustrious judges’ panel than the nervous contestants on stage. This week’s theme was rock but clearly this genre was open to interpretation resulting in some disquiet.

One industry award you could say might be lucky or a one off, two awards – not bad - probably well deserved, three awards – impressive, but four, five, six . . . meteoric perhaps?!  What am I going on about you may be grimacing? OK, I’ll tell you with great glee . . .
